Collecting money sent to you
For foreign nationals
With a valid passport or residence permit, you can collect money sent to you and send money to your home country.
If someone has sent you money with Western Union from abroad or from another city in Turkey, come to our branch with the 10-digit MTCN tracking number you got from the sender and a valid ID document.
The name on your ID must match the recipient's name on the transfer. We may also ask for details such as the sender's full name, the country it was sent from and the approximate amount. Once the details are checked, you collect your money.
What is an MTCN?
The MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) is the 10-digit tracking number given to every Western Union transfer. The recipient needs this number to collect the money. Share it only with the recipient and keep your receipt until the transfer is complete.
Sending money within Turkey
You can also use our branch to send money to someone close to you in another city in Turkey. The recipient collects the money at a Western Union location in their city with their ID and the tracking number.
